Sweater weather: 5 types of sweaters to get you through fall and winter

Sunday 24 September 2017

I'm so excited to wear sweaters again. I feel like everyone loves summer so much and enjoys the warm weather, while I secretly crave to unpack all my winter gear once we get to July. I'd love to live somewhere like Iceland where you get to wear winter clothes almost all year round!

That being said, I have quite an impressive collection of sweaters to fit my obsession with cold weather. And since they're basically my best friends and I've missed them so very much for the past couple of months, I wanted to share my favourite types of sweaters with you!

1. Chunky oversized sweaters

These are definitely my favourite type of sweaters to wear: they are cosy, warm, and look very cute with skinny jeans and booties. How could you not love them?

2. Thin sweaters

Thin sweaters are great for transitional weather - when it's basically too warm to wear a sweater but you still really want to. Cotton versions are especially great, because they're not too warm, and I also like very loosely knitted ones because again, they help you stay cool.

3. Graphic sweaters

Graphic sweaters are absolutely perfect for casual, lazy days, but they still are stylish enough to wear outside and even to work if you work at a casual enough place. Plus, you get to send a message to everyone who looks at you! ;)

4. Cropped sweaters

Cropped sweaters can be a little bit tricky because they don't keep you as warm as their longer siblings, but they look so cute when paired with high-waisted jeans. And they're totally winter-appropriate if they're not too short!

5. Chunky cardigans

Chunky cardigans are the perfect way to wear blouses and more summery tops once it gets really cold. They keep you warm while still showing off the top underneath, they feel like a cosy blanket when they're oversized, and they're really easy to take off when you get too hot (like on public transport for example).

Is anyone else as excited for autumn as I am?
